What we build in Vista

What we build in Vista almost always starts with the grade of the lot itself. Rolling terrain around Shadowridge and Buena Creek means most lots carry some elevation change, and rather than fighting it with flat fill, we generally build terraced patios and stepped retaining walls that work with the slope and often improve the view in the process.

Vista’s inland-coastal climate sits in a comfortable middle ground, mild enough to support nearly any planting palette in the county without the extremes Escondido or Poway see further inland. That flexibility means landscape design here is driven more by the lot’s grade and orientation than by fighting the weather, which keeps plant and material choices genuinely open.

Frequently asked questions

Is terracing usually necessary on a sloped Vista lot?

On lots with real grade change, which is common around Shadowridge and Buena Creek, terracing is often the more durable and better-looking option compared to forcing a flat yard with heavy fill. We assess each slope on-site, since not every Vista lot needs the same approach.

Does Vista's climate limit which plants work in a landscape design?

Not really. Vista's inland-coastal climate is milder than the far inland cities and supports a wide range of planting choices. The bigger factor is usually the lot's slope and sun exposure rather than the climate itself, which we account for in the landscape plan.

How does the free in-home consultation work?

Call (858) 888-1725 or send the form and we call you back to book a time. We come to your home, walk the space with you, measure and talk through scope and budget. It usually takes 30–60 minutes, and your written, itemized quote follows within two to three days. It is free for homeowners, with no obligation. Two situations are quoted differently: an appraisal-style quote on a property you do not own yet, and a quote for an insurance claim, are $350 each, credited in full toward your project if you go ahead with us.

How much does a backyard remodel cost in Vista?

It depends on the size of the yard, the materials and the scope. A paver patio prices very differently from a full outdoor kitchen. We measure on-site at your free in-home consultation and put the whole scope into a written, itemized quote, so you know the real number before committing to anything.

Is there a minimum project size?

Yes. Our projects generally start around $6,000 to $8,000. Below that a full design-build crew is not the right fit, and you would be paying for overhead your job does not need. Ask anyway: for smaller work in the San Diego area we will point you to a handyman we trust rather than leave you without an answer.

Do you provide 3D design and renderings?

Yes. When you sign the project with us, the 3D design and rendering are included at no extra charge, so you can see the space before we build it. If you want the design on its own, it starts at $2,700, and that amount is credited toward the project if you go ahead with us.

What warranty do you offer?

Warranty length follows the material, because different materials wear in different ways: retaining walls 20-Year, aluminum and vinyl 20-Year, pavers 15-Year, artificial turf 15-Year, concrete 10-Year, wood 5-Year and irrigation 1-Year. That is our workmanship warranty on the installation, written into your contract. Ask us what applies to your scope at the in-home consultation.

Are you a licensed contractor?

Yes, Sunny Builders Group is a licensed California contractor, CSLB #1098213, classifications B, C-27. We are bonded and carry workers’ compensation and liability insurance. You can verify the license on the CSLB website.

What areas do you serve?

We work across San Diego County and Temecula Valley. See the full list on our service areas page.

Do you only build outdoor projects?

Outdoor living is our specialty and the bulk of what we build. We are also a licensed general contractor, so we take on interior remodels: kitchens, bathrooms and flooring. If a project runs from the backyard into the house, it stays with one licensed contractor and one crew instead of being split between two companies.

Do you offer financing?

Yes, financing options are available for your project. Ask us about the current plans when you book your free in-home consultation.
